Yash Vyas

Bio
Yash Vyas’s practice manifests upon his ability – and sometimes inability – to recollect a specific space / environment / experience and envisioning how his memory will likely fade as he ages, Yash has become more conscious of the fleeting nature of life and with that, one’s psyche. Remembrance is an enthralling catalyst and has a strong underlying ethos in his work. Growing up in a family with a history of Alzheimer’s has forces Yash to contemplate on the thinly veiled relationship between memory, space and architecture. He uses multi-layering of imagery and clairvoyance to represent the complexity of this relationship. His premeditation is to evoke contemplation on the unseen evocative forces found in the space- inside and between living entities, in the objects and the landscapes that surround them within the boundaries of his miniature scape. Yash has done his MFA in Sculpture from MSU Baroda and currently lives in Vadodra, Gujarat.
