Zihan Karim


Bio

Zihan is a Chittagong-based creative practitioner interested in painting, photomontages, video art, sound art, and installations. He holds a BFA and an MFA from the Institute of Fine Arts, Chittagong University, and is currently a lecturer there. He has participated in several exhibitions including Dipro Ononno (2005), Krittika (2006), Chitrarath (2008), and Orchestra (2012) at Chittagong University, Anuhilan 1 and 2 at Alliance Francaise, the Berger Young Artist Exhibition (2010), the Dhaka Art Summit (2012), the 15th Asian Art Biennale (2012)  at Dhaka Shilpokola Academy, a video art show of 9 Bangladeshi artists at Community Space Litmus gallery, Korea (2012), a documentary photography exhibition titled “Bakshirhaat” at Dhaka Art Centre and Chittagong Shilpokola Academy (2013), a group painting exhibition titled “Celebrating Violence” at Dhaka Art Centre (2014), etc. Zihan received an Honorable Mention at the 15th Asian Art Biennale in 2012, and is a member for the Chittagong Film Centre, Pora Para Space for Artists, and Jog Alternative Art Space. He has also participated in a host of art workshops and camps across Bangladesh.
