We are strangled by the tentacles of centralized internet infrastructures, both corporate and governmental, almost carceral in their increasingly suffocating demands on our data and diktats designed to manipulate our behavior in online spaces. This is a dream of an internet that privileges individual and community ownership and control, reconfigured through an ethics of care. To illustrate these ideas and make them more accessible and relatable, the practice uses metaphors and draws on alternative knowledge systems, such as indigenous and local practices. In conversation with the community, the work imagines an alternative, more just, and meaningful digital ecosystem for all.

Her work includes “Gathering Multitudes: A Bag of Stars”, a 3D essay, encouraging players exploring the game-world to imagine spaces such as seed banks as a metaphor for digital servers and to contribute their own visions for the same. This approach is inspired by the notion of feminist autonomous infrastructures, which is grounded in the principles of:

-Consent and intimacy

-Situated knowledge and memory

-Seeded Connectedness

-Autonomous decision making.
