Ruminating over the subject of air pollution, global warming, defilement of nature and alienation of the self from it, An Elegy for Ecology speculates a future where we will have to cope with excessive heat and the lack of oxygen in the earth’s atmosphere. De’s photographs are imagined as the sole trace that remains as evidence of how humans survive in the near future once oxygen depletes from the atmosphere.
