The idea of Pratik’s work is to attract birds to interact with a structure meant to feed them. The structure contains many bowls of cereal arranged such to form a word. The word is FORGIVENESS.

The work requires regular disciplined management and care where the word needs to be regularly filled with water and structure with cereal. Pratik has created one such observatory at KHOJ. He also intends to travel with another structure to different sites in Delhi; sites which have already established themselves as accepted sites for bird-feeding.

He hopes to initiate a dialogue amongst various people who regularly feed birds and to generate awareness about ecology by building a habit of checking our position and relation with different forms of nature all around us. With “forgiveness” at back of our minds, we need to understand the urgency, and that policy-making and its execution require to counter the damage already caused.
