The Austrian Cultural Forum New Delhi promotes Austrian art and culture in India with a view to foster interest in and understanding of contemporary Austria among Indian audiences. To this end, the Austrian Cultural Forum supports young, outstanding and original Austrian artists wishing to present their work in India and engaging in dialogue and cooperation with local counterparts. In addition, the Austrian Cultural Forum also seeks to develop and deepen relations between Austrian and Indian universities and research institutions, including in the field of German language and literature.

Reaching out to the wider Southeast Asian region

While the activities of the Austrian Cultural Forum New Delhi focus on the Indian subcontinent, they also cover the countries of Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and the Maledives.
