About this edition

Khoj and Arthshila are pleased to invite applications from creative practitioners for the fourth edition of the Arthshila X Khoj Artist Residency—a fully-funded, on-site residency at Parivartan in Siwan, Bihar.

This residency supports 6 exceptionally talented artists with a strong material-based practice, including but not limited to ceramics, sculpture, and printmaking.

Set in Siwan, Bihar, Parivartan is an initiative of the Takshila Educational Society dedicated to integrated rural development across 21 villages in 8 panchayats. Its work spans education, theatre, sports, agriculture, women’s empowerment and livelihood projects, all aimed towards expanding the idea of freedom through capacity building.

This residency is designed for artists whose practice either aligns with or seeks to meaningfully engage with the ethos of Parivartan. We are looking for practitioners with a distinct artistic voice and a compelling vision, who are eager to create in response to the context and community of Siwan.
