Sid Pattni

Sid Pattni’s practice centres on the intricacies of identity, culture, and belonging within a post-colonial framework rooted in his Indian-Australian heritage. His distinctive visual language blends traditional embroidery and orthodox portraiture to express his cultural roots. Pattni won the Kennedy Prize in 2023 and his work has been selected for numerous national prizes, including the Lester Prize, Blake Prize and Arthur Guy Memorial Painting Prize. In 2022, Pattni was awarded the Minderoo Foundation Artist Fund Grant and was invited to speak at TEDx about his practice.
In 2024, Pattni will commence an International residency at Khoj, New Delhi in collaboration with the Perth Institute of Contemporary Art.
