Swati Janu
Bio
Swati Janu is an architect and artist based in Delhi working towards spatial justice and inclusion in the built environment. She is the founder of the interdisciplinary studio Social Design Collaborative that has been advocating for the right to the city, through a diversity of approaches – public art, visual design, community driven architecture, policy advocacy, and grassroots activism. Her work has been exhibited/ presented at the Design Museum (London 2020), Canadian Centre for Architecture (Montreal 2021), Omi Art (New York 2022), Khoj International Artists’ Association (Delhi 2015, 2016-17 & 2022-23), Serendipity Arts Festival (Goa 2024), Jaipur Art Week (2025) and will be up at the upcoming Sharjah Architecture Triennial 2026. She has taught at Ambedkar University and School of Planning and Architecture, and regularly writes on urban issues – from participatory planning to public spaces.
