KHOJ organised the screening of Asian Vibes: Bombay (2004; Director: Vishal Rawlley; Runtime: 60 min), a video documentary on electronic music in Bombay, from the early disco era to the new DJ culture.

Tracking the burst of electronica in contemporary Bombay from club DJs and remix gurus, to the fringe artists and cutting edge groups, this film travels back and forth in time, seeking early pioneers and new freaks. The documentary exposes the frenetic city’s obsession with racy grooves and screaming frequencies, that cut across class divides and space segregation and spill out on to the streets in a riot of joint celebration.
