Cca Ujazdowski Castle Residency Exchange
KHOJ in collaboration with the Centre for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle (CCA), the Adam Mickiewicz Institute (IAM) and the Polish Institute in New Delhi initiated an exchange residency program for curators and artists from India and Poland.
About this programme
This program was first initiated in May 2015, with KHOJ curator Sitara Chowfla participating in the RE:DIRECTING EAST Project organised by the A-I-R Laboratory, CCA Warsaw.
About the Artists-in-Residence Laboratory: This is a residency department of the Centre for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle. It is a meeting place, a workshop, a house, a space for artistic and curatorial activities. We are looking for new forms of intercultural and international cooperation and the exchange of experience in the field of art, constantly re-defining our understanding of the concept of an artist residency and the role of the artists-in-residence in contemporary institutions of culture and society. We support the development of international bonds between artists, curators and researchers; we promote the idea of the mobility of artists and art professionals in Poland and what is widely understood as Eastern Europe. At the same time, the works of the residents and curators of the A-I-R Laboratory are deeply entrenched in the local context of Warsaw; they map and enter into a dialogue with the city on many levels, involving its inhabitants in the creation process.
