Art And Fashion 2012
The Art & Fashion Residency was an international residency that examined the role of fashion in shaping everyday realities. It explored the individual and collective processes involved in identity-formation, whilst also looking at self-perception and communication through fashion. The history of fashion and its transformative role in the past and the present were also researched during the residency.
About this edition
Blurring the boundaries between art and fashion, the participants in this residency were creative practitioners with projects that straddle these two worlds. These artists were motivated by political, social and economic realities whilst also being inspired by architecture, philosophy, science, history, technology and so on. An exploration of the visual and intellectual principles that chart these processes through disciplines not readily associated with art and fashion was given a space to breathe and be delved into during this residency.
